Jack named president of NNJ-ASTD, workplace learning organization
Writing instructor and author of top-selling business writing book
Dec. 15, 2009 -- Jack E. Appleman, author of a top-selling business writing book, was named president of the northern New Jersey chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (NNJ-ASTD), the world's largest association dedicated to workplace learning professionals. Appleman was honored at an NNJ-ASTD meeting Dec. 10 in Fairfield, N.J.
"Our organization is committed to helping learning professionals enhance their careers through engaging programs and valuable networking opportunities," said Appleman. The NNJ-ASTD ( www.nnjastd.org ) is comprised of learning and development professionals in business, education and government.
The president of SG Communications ( www.sgwriting.com ), Appleman is the author of "10 Steps to Successful Business Writing" (2008, ASTD Press), Amazon's number two seller in the business writing category. He offers corporate writing workshops and individual writing coaching to help professionals and students master documents such as emails, proposals, sales letters, resumes and cover letters. Appleman is also an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University and William Paterson University.
